On-campus dance performance brings Degas’ art to life

September 16 / 186

There are still over two weeks for art lovers to explore the exquisite world of Degas and dance in the exhibition Degas: A New Vision now on show at the National Gallery of Victoria.

The University of Melbourne is a proud Learning Partner of the exhibition, which runs to 18 September.

Ballet featured in many of Degas’ paintings including The little fourteen-year-old dancer, Rehearsal hall at the Opera, and Finishing the arabesque.

A special on-campus performance brought Degas’ art to life on campus in August on the Concrete Lawn to whet people’s appetites for the show.

As part of our partnership with NGV our students and alumni receive a discount on all NGV membership categories, for first time joining members. Staff receive concession price admission to the Winter Masterpieces (includes the Degas exhibition) for up to two people, so bring your staff/student ID along!
