The University has been awarded the lion’s share of new Australian scholarships awarded by the Chilean government, with 57 students coming to the University.

The University received 13 out of 26 PhD scholarships and 44 out of 69 Masters Scholarships awarded to Australian universities.

The Chilean Government Scholarship Program, Becas Chile, handed out 759 scholarships worldwide, with Australia the fourth most popular destination for PhD candidates and the third most popular for masters candidates.

Carmel Murphy, Executive Director, International said the University’s success in these awards was “fantastic news”.
“We are pleased that high calibre international students are choosing to study with us, and we are thankful for the support of the Chilean government in making this happen,” she said.

“We look forward to welcoming the new Chilean students, who join a significant and increasing cohort of South American postgraduates.”
