What is your job title?

How long have you been with the University of Melbourne?

Eight years

How did you come to work at the University?

I have been very fortunate to work in several library sectors, including local
government and prior coming to Melbourne, I worked on a library redevelopment
project in Vietnam. The experience of working in an academic environment
encouraged me to apply for the position of the Arts Team Leader in the then-
Information Services Division at the University.

Describe your typical day

Answering emails, attending meetings and catching up with staff working in the
Baillieu Library. The first few weeks of semester is a busy time here in the Baillieu
Library with my time split between training new students in how to locate library
resources and working with academics in the Arts Faculty.

What is it about your job that holds your interest or is particularly
satisfying?

It is the diversity, each day brings with it new challenges. I also enjoy working with the
Arts team located in the Baillieu. This time of the year is particularly fun, with lots of
new students coming into the library.

What is the best piece of advice you have received?

Take a deep breath, and then another!

What is something about yourself that most of your colleagues wouldn't
know?

I have entered a fun run!

Where do you buy your coffee on campus?

Kere Kere

What do you like most about the University?

The proximity to the city, the beautiful gardens, especially at this time of the year, the
staff I work with, the academics I come into contact with and the students, who seem
to be getting younger each year!
