Opportunities for VCE students and teachers in VCE Winter School

June 16 / 183

Is there a VCE student in your household or social network? If so, the Faculty of Arts’ VCE Winter School offers students in Years 10, 11 or 12 a chance to prepare for exams in History: Revolutions, Australian History and English Literature.

Community Education Manager for the Faculty of Arts Caterina Sciacca says students attending the Winter School will be able to select from a program consisting of lectures and tutorials delivered by leading academics and tutors at the University, who will help the students understand key themes, and what examiners are looking for in final exam performance.

“This year we’re also offering a professional study day for Literature teachers on interpreting texts North and South, Twelfth Night, and New and Selected Poems by Chris Wallace-Crabbe,” Ms Sciacca says. “These texts are included in the new 2017 syllabus, and allow teachers who may not be familiar with these texts to really explore themes, critical perspectives and approaches to study.”
