This year's University of Melbourne Awards have been announced, with bronze plaques installed along Professor's Walk on the Parkville campus to recognise awardees.

 

The award acknowledges staff who have made an outstanding and enduring contribution to the University and its scholarly community.

This year's 16 recipients included former Vice-Chancellors Sir David Derham (1920 - 1985) and Professor Kwong Lee Dow, Dr Jean Laby (1915 - 2008) who was the only female atmospherics physicist of her generation, and renowned art historian Professor Emeritus Margaret Manion.

A celebration for awardees and their families was held on Sunday 8 November at University House. Vice-Chancellor Glyn Davis and Margaret Manion spoke.
