Margaret Sheil voted Director of Australian science & engineering body

Provost Margaret Sheil is one of two new Directors elected to the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE).

Professor Sheil was elected at the Academy's Annual General Meeting on November 27, along with Dr Bruce Godfrey, CEO of Australian Scientific Instruments.

Professor Sheil has served as CEO of the Australian Research Council (2007 - 2012) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, the Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (FTSE) and the Australian and New Zealand Society for Mass Spectrometry (FANZSMS). 

She is also is a member of the Advisory Council of the CSIRO Science Industry Endowment Fund (SIEF), Chair of Clunies Ross Awards Committee of ATSE and Education Specialist on the Board of the Australian National Selection Commission for UNESCO. 

The ATSE is an independent body of 800 eminent Australian scientists and engineers enhancing Australia's prosperity through technology and innovation.
