Professional staff recognised in the 2013 Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Outstanding Contribution

December 13 / 126

The annual Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Outstanding Contribution recognise exceptional contributions made by professional staff members toward fulfilling the goals, values and mission of the University.

This is the fourth year of the awards, which include categories for individual contributions and teams.

The awardees received a certificate of recognition and a grant to be spent at the discretion of the individual or team for professional development purposes and/or an approved work-related gift.

The awards were officially conferred by the Vice-Chancellor last week.

“This is a wonderful event because it celebrates the outstanding skills of professional staff, and the great relationship between academic and professional members of the University community,” he said.

“In every faculty and every area of our work, we achieve great things through the dynamic interaction of talented staff and students. The University really is its people.”

Senior Vice-Principal Ian Marshman said the awards were a chance to recognise the enormous contribution professional staff made to the successes of the University.

“This year, there were a large number of nominations, and the group that had the unenviable task of sifting through them found it excruciatingly difficult to decide who would receive an award and who wouldn’t,” he said.
