Free footy for students offer

August 17 / 196

University of Melbourne students have once again been offered the opportunity to take a dive head-first into the wonderful world of AFL footy through a special offer from the Melbourne Football Club.

The Melbourne Football Club is offering free tickets to students to come along to attend a special Welcome Game on Sunday 13 August at the iconic MCG.

Manager of the Club’s engagement program Aisling McCarthy says: “The Welcome Game is an inclusive event for Melbourne’s dynamic and vibrant multicultural community to come together and celebrate the cultural heritage and identity of the city.”

International students, or even those from non-Aussie Rules states who might be wondering what all the fuss is about footy – especially now we’re closing in on finals season – have a unique opportunity to be hosted by the 'mighty Dees'.

Earlier this year Masters of Geography student Runjie Yuan – known as Reggie – and his wife (a recent Business & Economics graduate) attended a similar event, and reported having a wonderful time.

“Yesterday is fantastic for me! What a day of footy, Dees lost though :-(...,” Reggie reported back from his experiences.

Anyone interested in joining the Melbourne Uni contingent at the Melbourne Football Club game can get hold of tickets here.

The University of Melbourne has an ongoing engagement relationship with the Melbourne Football Club.
