Dean re-appointed

August 11 / 66

Professor Rick Roush has been re-appointed Dean of the Melbourne School of Land and Environment (MSLE) for five years.

The appointment comes after a lengthy consultation period with academic and professional staff at MSLE.

Provost Professor John Dewar said Professor Roush had made valuable contributions to the University by leading the school through a significant period of change and there had been much admiration expressed for his work ethic and his commitment.

Professor Roush said: “I am very grateful for the strong support of my colleagues in MSLE and from Provost Dewar, Vice Chancellor Glyn Davis and many others in University management.

“After a lot of hard work and sacrifice by its staff and students, MSLE is well poised to make even greater contributions to the serious challenges that face Australia and world, including the technical and social challenges in implementing truly sustainable  water  and energy management practices in agriculture and forestry, and rural  and urban communities,” he said.

“I look forward to the challenges and joys of helping my colleagues excel in these efforts.”
