The National Excellence in Educational Leadership Initiative (NEELI) oversees a scholarship fund created last year to support increased leadership capability throughout the Australian higher education sector. Applications from interested leaders and people managers in Australia’s tertiary system are now being accepted.

Scholarships worth $3,500 are being offered to assist university staff to participate in the Australian Higher Education Sector Leadership Colloquium (AHESLC).

Colloquium participants will experience world standard leadership development opportunities tailored to the unique needs of today’s educational leaders.

Program Manager Johnny Volwerk says the AHESLC is a collaborative development program focusing on the critical aspects of effective leadership and interpersonal communication.

“The program equips participants with the insights, skills and confidence to accelerate their own development as they simultaneously strengthen the performance of their teams and their organisations,” he says.

“The Colloquium stands at the forefront of integrated digital learning technology and marries connected interactive learning with easy to use and highly accessible online environments.”

The program is delivered in sessions over a ten-month period to ensure minimal disruption to each participant’s workload, and combines the best leadership pedagogy from the corporate sector with an informed understanding of the contemporary higher education environment.
