The University has celebrated the achievements of its international students at an awards ceremony for recipients of international undergraduate scholarships at University House.

Ms Wendy Holden, Associate Director, National Markets (Office of Admissions), welcomed the students who came to Melbourne from countries across the world including Belarus, Bangladesh, Vietnam and the USA.

To be considered for a scholarship with the University, international students must have achieved a final year school result which is at least equivalent to an ATAR of 99.9 in the Australian Year 12 program.

Ms Holden acknowledged the effort required by the students to earn an international undergraduate scholarship and thanked them for choosing Melbourne as their study destination.

“We have much to gain from your curious minds and diverse, international experiences,” she said.

“It is through your dedication and hard work that you are now part of the University of Melbourne family.”

The University presented the scholarships to the 16 students who attended the ceremony. In Semester One, the scholarships included full and half fee remission scholarships, and a $10 000 remission in the first year of an undergraduate degree.
